What is Kawahira methods（repetitive facilitation exercises）?
The basic theory of Kawahira methods using novel facilitation methods for the hemiplegic limb mainly aim to strengthen the neuronal circuits through the injured descending motor tracts by repetition of the movements that are to be recovered. The patient’s intentions to move the hemiplegic limb are realized by using multiple sensory stimulations to target the neural circuits related to each movement.Combined therapy using vibratory or electrical stimulation might promote efficacy of Kawahira methods for patients with hemiplegia.
What are target diseases?
Those who wish to improve paralysis or walking with hemiplegia after stroke (cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage),Flaccid Tetraplegia,Paraplegia(cervical cord, thoracic cord ,lumbar cord)
What is laboratory of kawahira ?
It is a clinic that promotes functional recovery with scientific and effective neuro rehabilitation using Kawahira methods with electeical stimulation, vibratory stimulation, rehabilitation robot for paralysis and walking disturbance after stroke, head trauma, spinal cord injury. We also hold practical training sessions for physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists who want to learn treatment with evidence.
